What you are saying

Whilst phil was alive and marina master, the clubhouse was a useful item, but sadly with his passing it was soon removed and stored. We are happy to help with this project as it is one where a lot of local history was made.

Anything that stops it being lost is a good thing

The boatshed launched many people’s sailing and boating lives. We lost the old Banks Peninsular Cruising club building, so I believe this humble building needs to be preserved and used. Well done.

It’s the CYMBC centenary this year. A great reason to save it!

My utmost support for this idea. Would love to be involved in the restoration

Great solution!

JD, Governors Bay

This is a brilliant proposal... A huge thanks for taking the lead on this. I am totally supportive. Losing Lionel’s boat house was tragic. This is an opportunity to fully recover what was lost and have community ownership and use. It will also add positive meaning to the Jetty restoration. As a keen sailing boatie... I am thrilled

MB, Governors Bay

For many young Lytteltonians and their families, this special building was more known as the Lyttelton Sea Scout Den from around the late 1960s until the 1990s... I hope all past Lyttelton Sea Scouts get behind and help you with saving this historic building.

DS, Lyttelton

Happy memories learning my boat master in [this building] with Peter Marshal... Happy for it to go to Governors Bay instead of being demolished.

DJ, Lyttelton

We had our wedding reception in this building. Such a lovely old building.

MP, Lyttelton

[This building] has to be saved! All those years of childhood memories. Cubs, scouts, and ventureres.

RE, Lyttelton

I've just heard about this and its a great idea. Good luck and I hope there is enough support to make it happen. Would be great alongside the new jetty.
